In keeping with our practice on the first Sunday of every month, this Sunday included observing the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. Dr. John Clayton continued his Lord's Supper Sunday walk through the book of Exodus, this time in the first two verses of chapter 5 with his sermon, "Know the Lord." The hymns for this week were "We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer, Creator," Psalm 113 (verses 1-8), "My Faith Has Found a Resting Place," and "Jesus, Thou Joy of Loving Hearts." In addition, the choir sang the song "O Splendor of the Father's Light" for the offertory.

This week's service featured Dr. John Clayton's sermon, "By the Word of Truth," part of his sermon series James: Real Christian Living. The hymns for this week were, "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty," Psalm 119 (verses 1-16), "Hail to the Lord's Anointed," and "Every Promise of Your Word." In addition, the choir performed J. S. Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" for the offertory.

This week's service featured Dr. John Clayton's sermon, "The Powerful Provision of God," in preparation for taking the Lord's Supper. The hymns for this week were "Behold Our God," "Now Thank We All Our God," Psalm 32, and "At the Lamb's High Feast We Sing." In addition, the choir sang the hymn, "Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise" for the offertory.

This week's service marked the conclusion of our Advent observances, as we celebrated the 4th week: Peace. The service featured the sermon "The Reign of Peace" by Dr. John Clayton and included the hymns "Angels, From the Realms of Glory," "God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen," Psalm 85 (verses1-3, 8-13), and "It Came upon the Midnight Clear." Also included was the choir's offertory song, "Angels and Shepherds," featuring Derek Bolin on trumpet.

This week was the second week of Advent, during which we focus on the theme of Love. Dr. John Clayton's sermon was titled "Signs of God's Favor," and was on Psalm 86. The hymns for this week were "Of the Father's Love Begotten," "Gentle Mary Laid Her Child," Psalm 86 (verses 12-15, 17), and "O Lord, How Shall I Meet You." In addition, today's offertory was "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel," performed by the handbell ensemble.
