As the minister of Covenant Presbyterian Church, John’s passion is expositional preaching from the Bible. A gifted teacher, he is a pastor with real-world experience and a heart for leading others to the truth of the gospel.

John is a native and lifelong resident of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born and reared in a faithful Christian home and professed a saving faith in Christ at a young age. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City, and is pursuing additional studies. John is a former real estate executive and spent 20 years in the business world.

John and his wife Sydney have been married for 19 years. They have three children who are actively involved at Covenant.

The Covenant choir and handbell ensemble are also featured, and Pastor John brings a sermon from Psalm 22.

This Sunday was Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. The service included the sermon "Triumphal Worship" from John 12:9-19. The offertory for this week was "Come, Come Unto Me," performed by members Amy Maurer, Carol Sue Clayton, and Director of Music Brandon Bolin.
This week's service included the sermon "Our Hope in Christ" from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, the seventh installment in our sermon series 1 & 2 Thessalonians: Every Grace Endued. The hymns for this week were "Rejoice, the Lord Is King," Psalm 97, "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded," and "My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less." In addition, the offertory featured church member Lee Krehbiel playing "Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus" on the bagpipes.
